The day started out much like any other. Clark dutifully went off to work, stopping off to get lattes for Chloe and Lois, and then settling in his office to start a fun filled day of editing.
It was around 3pm when the news came in that a construction site had hit on a strange load of rock halfway between Smallville and Metropolis. Chloe and Clark were on it, almost immediately, although he had to fight to get Chloe to let him come; she'd been worried what might happen to him if it turned out to be meteor rock.
Turns out Chloe was right to be concerned. Because while the rocks weren't green, they were red. and Clark had inhaled enough dust at the site questioning workers that he didn't notice it in time.
And now he doesn't care. He's got a goddess waiting for him at home.
