hero_farmboy borrowed with much love.It's been four days since her husband buried his biological father. Clark has been keeping himself busy with work, or farm chores, in what appears to be another attempt to cut himself off from everyone. It's an irrational maneuver, but understandable if one knows how many people he's lost over the years. Eirene's been trying to give him the space he needs, hoping that the barely-there smiles aimed at his daughter will pass, or the way Clark holds himself so stiffly will end.
( He's hurting. )

Oct. 16th, 2009 08:57 amIt's an ordinary Friday, which is the way these things always start out. Eirene rises early, enough to kiss her husband farewell before he heads out to help with chores and then head to work. The apartment is blessedly quiet and she takes advantage long enough to set a kettle on the stove before curling up on the couch with an ear open for her daughter's eventual waking up.

Sep. 19th, 2009 07:46 pmWeekends were always busy in the Kent household. Clark spent most of each day out at the farm, working diligently on the slowly-emerging house skeleton, while Eirene did housewife stuff and then took Zoe for a walk around the country. A few times she'd blurred up to Olympus so her parents could see the grand-kid, but made sure to be back before sunset so her husband wouldn't worry.
