Six months ago, Eirene became engaged to an alien.

Fix months ago, she returned to her own world for almost two months, to make arrangements with Time himself so that she could pass through the Bar into Clark's world without things falling apart in her homeland without her presence.

Three months ago, the goddess returned to Clark's world with an agreement to go home twice a month to keep abreast of things and never leave her realm without a symbol of peace, barring any childbearing in which it would not be safe to travel.

Two month ago, she met with Senator Kent (and her future mother in law) and agreed to take cooking lessons when Martha had time.

An hour ago, Eirene completed her first solo dinner preparations, an early Halloween meal for herself and Clark. Except he's not returned from the office yet. Being late is generally an assumed thing with her fiance, and she's used to it. Really, it would just be nice if he called.

So she doesn't start panicking.

Eirene stares at the door she was just unceremoniously shoved out of, and then at the picnic basket in her hands. "Clark? I think we were just evicted." She can hear Martha puttering around inside the farmhouse, humming to herself or the kids, and decides that she just isn't up for stalking back inside and rescuing her children from their grandmother.

Jon is already over a year old now, and Spring beckons on the horizon. Or, rather, it beckons by sight and smell across the fertile earth of the Kent farm. They're known in town now, because Eirene won't let them be completely reclusive, and she even participated in decorations for the previous year's homecoming -- even though the Kent offspring wont attend Smallville High for years yet.

So far, it's a good life, even if she does still miss her mother and sisters on a regular basis.

"Clark? Feel like a picnic?"

Adjusting the basket to her other hand, the goddess goes in search of her husband.

Eight months along, as of this morning. Eirene knew the day after the wedding that she was pregnant; the poison leeched out of her system scant days before. Clark hadn't believed her, and so they'd departed on the honeymoon and spent an entire month (aside from her husband's forays into the hero business) in the Mediterranean. He was now also addicted to beachs, sand and the warm sun.

And private coves where they didn't wear anything at all.

But that makes navigating the stairs down to the bottom floor something of a challenge, especially since she can't really see where she's going, and finds herself feeling her way by touch and good luck. By the sound of the engine running outside, it seems like Martha is headed back to the hotel, which means she might be able to sneak an oreo from the cupboard if she waddles over fast enough.

Clark has become even more of a health food freak lately.

Las Vegas is something of a shock and surprise for people who have never seen it before. The lights, the glitter, the population of a small, Third World country; anything and everything you could possibly think of is there. And it never goes to sleep.

Which totally explains the eclectic group assembled in a 'twenty-four hour' wedding Chapel just off the strip. Oliver Queen (in a green tux), Arthur Curry (in an orange tux), Lois Lane, Bart Allen, Victor Stone, Chloe Sullivan, Martha Kent, Eunomia, Themis, Bruce Wayne, Diana Prince and Kara Zor-El are probably not trying to intimidate the judge pulled in to do the ceremony(he's a friend of Ollie's), but doing a bang up job of it anyway.

Eirene? Is having a small panic attack in the waiting room. What if she forgets what she's supposed to say? The goddess has never been married before, despite having attended many of them over her lifetime. And if she does something like trip, isn't that a bad omen or something? Today, she's going to walk down that aisle and bind her life, legally, to Clark's. And it would be really nice to have--

"We made it, 'rene!" Dike announces cheerfully, as she steps inside the building, followed by a mature, very handsome gentleman who looks to be in his late forties. "I'm heading inside to let the music coordinator know we're ready."

Zeus, for once, is not dressed in a Hawaiian shirt and slacks, but a formal (and very storm-gray) tux. He's also stepping forward to wind her arm around his and lead her into the main room, and up the aisle as only a proud father can. It probably helps that she forgave him in those few seconds, to judge by the radiant smile on her face as they drift up to where Clark waits with his best woman, Chloe. Zeus takes his daughter's hand and places it into Clark's before beating a hasty retreat to sit next to Themis and the rest of the bride's contingent.

And Eirene isn't nervous anymore, because she goes first.

"In the presence of our families and friends, I claim you, Clark Jerome Kent, as my lifemate. I belong to you. I offer my life for you. I give to you my protection, my allegiance, my heart, my soul and my body. I take into my keeping the same that is yours. Your life, happiness and welfare will be cherished and placed above my own for all time. You are my lifemate, bound to me for all eternity and always in my care."
