Six months ago, Eirene became engaged to an alien.

Fix months ago, she returned to her own world for almost two months, to make arrangements with Time himself so that she could pass through the Bar into Clark's world without things falling apart in her homeland without her presence.

Three months ago, the goddess returned to Clark's world with an agreement to go home twice a month to keep abreast of things and never leave her realm without a symbol of peace, barring any childbearing in which it would not be safe to travel.

Two month ago, she met with Senator Kent (and her future mother in law) and agreed to take cooking lessons when Martha had time.

An hour ago, Eirene completed her first solo dinner preparations, an early Halloween meal for herself and Clark. Except he's not returned from the office yet. Being late is generally an assumed thing with her fiance, and she's used to it. Really, it would just be nice if he called.

So she doesn't start panicking.

The day started out much like any other. Clark dutifully went off to work, stopping off to get lattes for Chloe and Lois, and then settling in his office to start a fun filled day of editing.

It was around 3pm when the news came in that a construction site had hit on a strange load of rock halfway between Smallville and Metropolis. Chloe and Clark were on it, almost immediately, although he had to fight to get Chloe to let him come; she'd been worried what might happen to him if it turned out to be meteor rock.

Turns out Chloe was right to be concerned. Because while the rocks weren't green, they were red. and Clark had inhaled enough dust at the site questioning workers that he didn't notice it in time.

And now he doesn't care. He's got a goddess waiting for him at home.

By six Eirene is hovering near the phone, occasionally checking on the meal sitting in the oven, and feeling like a complete idiot. Of course he's okay, this is Clark. There's a good chance he's halfway around the world, saving people from a cave-in somewhere in Pakistan, or a Japanese village from a typhoon.

Nevermind that the end of October isn't traditional typhoon season - well, not usually. Clark is absolutely fine, he hasn't been kidnapped and held against his will by Lex Luthor (though that thought keeps popping up in her head at worrying rate), and he'll show up any minute. Right?

Right.

Absolutely.

Of course, Clark doesn't walk through the door so much as he saunters, his jacket already flung over one shoulder.

"Honey, I'm home."

[eirenikos]

"Oh, thank Zeus." Eirene is his fiancee, she's allowed to look worried. She's also allowed to run over and hug him as tightly as she wants to. Which is exactly what she does.

"I'm glad you're home," she mumbles a minute later into his chest.

Clark wraps his arms around her and lifts her up so they're face to face. "With this kind of reception, so am I."

[eirenikos]

"Sorry, I got a little worried when you ... you know, were late. Which is completely stupid, I know, but you could get into trouble and I wouldn't know to come save your behind."

Eirene takes a deep breath and beams at him.

"I have a surprise for you, though. Which you can have when you put me down. Eventually."

Which is when she plants a quick kiss right on his mouth. Because she was concerned for his wellbeing.

"Well, here I am, all safe and sound." He may ignore the promise of a surprise for the moment, because there's kissing to be done. A significant amount of it.


...she did say 'eventually.'

She'll agree with him, in a few minutes, because right now he's kissing her like he hasn't for a few weeks; which she totally understands because the reporter-ing and the superhero-ing take a lot out of him, and Eirene doesn't like to whine about it.

But this is ...

... yes, she did say eventually.

The jacket has been unceremoniously dropped on the floor and Eirene may find herself pressed up against the nearest wall in short order. Right now the most important thing in the world is her. Reporting and heroing can damn well wait.

If her brain hadn't just shorted out at the Tarzan move, Eirene would be wondering what's gotten into her boyfriend, because he's rarely this blatantly amourous.

So Clark will be subjected to a couple of quiet whimpers, and her hands tangling in his hair. Oh, and the spiked heartbeat.

After a few more minutes, he draws back, just enough to speak. "You taste amazing. Have I ever told you that?"

[eirenikos]

It takes her several minutes to pull herself together, clinging to him because she knows her legs won't work if he lets go and she'll slide to the floor.

"Not in a little while, no. Clark, it's okay. I don't expect you to come home and ravish me every night. There are people who need you out there, far more than me."

"Maybe," he half shrugs, nuzzling along her neck with his nose. "But I need you, not them."

[eirenikos]

That just makes her feel like putty in his hands, which is probably what he's aiming for. "I need you too." There might be hands sliding up to fumble with shirt buttons to prove it.

"I know." One of his hands will slip between them and start working on her jeans. "Baby, you can have as much of me as you want."

[eirenikos]

The endearment should clue her in, because Clark isn't in the habit of calling her 'baby', but the last time she met this side of him was years and years ago. So it doesn't; merely spurring her to getting his shirt undone in between kisses.

"All of you, Clark. 's what I want."

Oh, look. There's an ear that obviously wants to be licked.

Obviously, if the groaned response is any indication. And at this point, his impatience is winning. Eirene's jeans may not survive.

[eirenikos]

Then they don't survive. It's not like he can hurt her, not unless he really meant to, and once in a while Eirene likes to see how much she affects him. Even in bed, Clark is still always in control, somehow.

"I love you, Clark."

She sinks her teeth against his bottom lip two seconds later.

His shirt doesn't fair much better (which he'll curse himself for later; it's his best one) and then his hands starts trailing up the side of her body, up underneath her tank top.

"I know. I love you, too."

[eirenikos]

(She'll buy him a new one, or three, of the exact same make and model. Later.)

His hands produce a gasp, and a fair amount of squirm against him, seeing as how she is still pinned to the wall.

Perhaps it's time to change perspective?

Eirene thinks so. If Clark isn't paying attention to anything but her body, he might find himself on the floor half a minute later, with a goddess straddling his hips and dragging her tongue down his chest.

Clark... is fully amenable to this change of circumstances. The arm that was wrapped around her waist will move slightly, his hand reaching down to squeeze her rear, while the other tugs at her shirt.

[eirenikos]

That rear end will wiggle playfully against his fingers, while Eirene twists around just long enough to help him remove her shirt.

She doesn't think he'll be disappointed at the results; in this case, a bare torso for his viewing pleasure.

Well, mostly viewing pleasure, seeing as how she still has that chest to explore.

Is he ever disappointed with the results, no matter how any times he's seen them now? Granted, he isn't about to disturb her from what she's doing, although he may shift slightly beneath her to get in a more comfortable position.

[eirenikos]

No, but he always manages to make her feel beautiful and desired in a warm, fuzzy, blatantly erotic way. Which means that his chest will become the recipient of her tongue and teeth making a trek across it, leaning not once inch of skin between his throat and navel unexplored.

This takes a good, long while.

His hands will wander as she explores, along her back, her sides and definitely back down to her rear again. Even long the length of her thighs spread on either side of his hips.

Eirene's ministrations will reap a result in a serious of soft groans and "yes"s, at least until he seems to have had enough of this, and rolls her over onto her back.
