"... you'd better call or email soon." Chloe steps back, closing the driver's door of a blue VW Bug, and peers at the sole occupant. "I mean it."

Eirene nods, reaching out of the window to clasp hands briefly with her boyfriend's best friend. It's an odd little duo they are now, both of them having figured out that Clark never came back from his final showdown with an identical clone some weeks back. The goddess blames herself for having been gone most of that time, off dealing with incidents larger than a small town or large city in Kansas.

She's only hung around for the last week because of Chloe Sullivan; the slightly taller blonde needed someone to stick around so she wouldn't go crazy. Everyone else seems fooled into assuming the doppleganger is the real thing, and that's exactly why she's leaving now.

"Yeah, I will. Just going to drive for a few days and see where I end up, y'know. But you're at the top of my speed-dial," because Chloe programmed it in herself, "so... we'll see." She backs carefully out of the driveway and heads towards the highway, , watching the mirror until she can't see Chloe's waving figure.

Two hours later she's pulled into a rest stop, still unaccustomed to driving rather than walking, and is quietly shredding bread crumbs for the resident pigeons.

He blinks a few times, only very briefly caught off guard, but he recovers quickly enough to grab her wrist before she can get away.

"So you do have a little fire in you after all."

She's glaring up at him with the heat of a thousand volcanoes, and not in a good way, so 'a little fire' might be something of an understatement.

"Why are you pestering me? Wasn't it enough to destroy him, take over his life and sleep with his ex-girlfriend?" She means Lana.

"Now let me go."

A little, a lot. Whatever it is, he likes it.

"No, it wasn't. Isn't. I deserve everything he had."

"You have everything; his name, his home, Lana, his life."

There'll be an experimental yank back of her arm.

She's not getting away that easily.

"There's more."

"There's nothing more."

"Sorry, not following." Yeah, she really is that confused. Clark thought it was cute.

It's marginally endearing, but it could get old real quick.

"The whole world's out there for the taking. He had the opportunity, but he didn't take it. I will."

Which is totally a way to keep him away from her; the dumb blonde routine. Well, at least until he mentions something that sounds like conquering.

"Oh, no you don't. I will not allow you to run unchecked across this planet."

He snorts. "You were just going to walk away from me thirty seconds ago. Make up your mind, woman."

And that's when Eirene reaches out to gather Bizarro's shirt in a hand and lift him easily off the ground.

"My planet. My people. There is no way in Tartarus that I will let you hurt them; physically or emotionally. Don't push me."

He's impressed. A little.

"Then maybe you'd better stick around and make sure I don't."

"I can do that without having to spend any more time in your presence than necessary."
